This qualification covers customer service and day-to-day work in places such as restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs and cafés, with options in food and beverage, accommodation and gaming. It also covers working safely, respecting different cultures and coaching others. People already working in hospitality may be able to have their skills recognised through RPL.
Waiters, bar staff, baristas, receptionists and other hospitality workers who work with some independence.
15 units must be completed: 1 unit from Group A. 6 units from Group B. 2 units from Group B, Group C, elsewhere in the SIT Training Package, or any other current Training Package or accredited course. The selection of electives must be guided by the job outcome sought, local industry requirements and the complexity of skills appropriate to the AQF level of this qualification.
